Anyone have an existing video monitor for one child and got another for a second child? If so, I would be interested in what types you bought. I have a summer infant video monitor and it has two channels. I bought a second one thinking I could put it on the opposite channel as the first and it would be fine but no luck, I only see one room, can't get the one in DS's room to view at the same time as baby's room and vice versa. I want to keep the video monitor in by DS as well as put one in by the baby because our bedroom is on the first floor and the kids will both be upstairs and I also like to see if DS is actually napping or playing.

Any information I would appreciate it!

I got a summer infant video monitor as a shower gift. Does it have sound? I realize this is not answering your question but I'm curious if you know. I can't tell from the box.

I have a Summer infant video monitor as well---and added a 2nd camera and I can see BOTH rooms. Emma's room is on one channel and Olivia's room is on the other channel. So, I don't know why it isn't working for you. I have never had any issues with seeing both rooms on 1 monitor. Sorry, I am not much help...

ETA: I do have an older model because I got it in 2007 when Emma was born. I believe this is the one:
Summer Infant - Infant Video Monitoring Products
and then when Olivia was born we bought an extra camera:
Summer Infant - Baby Monitoring Products

That is the one I have as well. I could buy another camera for it but then I would have to flip between the two channels right, so if i had it on A, if the one in by DS was on B and he cried, I wouldn't hear it because it was on A - I think? I just bought a second whole unit - camera and parent portion and I could only see one room at a time and I want to be able to see both rooms. I found a unit that would allow up to 4 cameras but when reading about it, you could see all 4 rooms at the same time but no sound so what good is that for at night when I'm not awake. So I'm looking for another whole camera and parent unit that doesn't interfer with my current one so I can see and hear both rooms at the same time. I'm not sure what I'm asking for is possible.

Yup it has sound as well. At night I turn the video part off and just leave on the sound. If you like a little white noise while you sleep you will like this one. I love it! I just wish I could find another one that doesn't interfer with this one so I can be able to watch and hear both kids at night!

I currently have the summer infant day/night video monitor and was going to get a second one for this baby. I'd have 2 separate monitors and 2 camera parts....so I figured I'd have them on opposite channels and it would work fine? Do you have 2 cameras but one monitor (with one camera on A and one on B?) I would think that would work? So I'm no help LOL
