My contractions yesterday started getting severe in the back and they would not go away
so I finally gave in and went to the hospital. ( I had already taken 3 procardia before getting there)

My contractions were regular & intense where there was no more graph sheet on the toco machine to reach how tall it got. I was scared and thought I was delivering that night. They put me in a Labor room and put me at the highest dosage of mag. still had contractions.... they didn't slow down till this morning.

As of now I got moved to the high risk unit and the dr is decreasing my mag a bit because my contractions are only 4 an hour now.

What else my FFN test came back positive and when I arrived yesterday they said I was about 2.5 cm dilated and 80% effaced. I have not been checked since.

Update- I was on the mag for 30 hrs straight ( it was hard!!!!) and now my dr is going to let me do a day of procardia.
Still had some strong contractions all through the night. 3-6 an hour but they were not like my painful ones. So nursing is being set up at my home today. Going home with contraction monitoring and seeing if I surpass my 2 week timeframe of that positive FFN test.

I'm so sorry hun. Maybe the hospital is a safe place for you right now given your history and also that you are pregnant with twins this time. I feel your pain. I know how scary this all is. 28 weeks is a good milestone to have reached. Did you get the steroids yet? Glad your contractions have slowed down. Mag sulfate is awful but it really helps. I hope things calm down for you and we both don't meet any babies for at least a few more weeks. Hugs.

I received 1 round at 25 weeks.... my peri never thought I would make it past 32 so he was going to give me a rescue dose at 30 weeks too...but now he might do it earlier based on the ultrasound I get tomorrow.

I hope Lacey stays put for you Arielle

! Mag is awful especially being hooked up to 2 fetal heart belts, a toco belt, a blood pressure belt, and a oxygen thing 24 hrs a day plus the iv cart.

Have you delivered at that hospital before? I am hoping to deliver at a different hospital this time if Lacey can hang in there another couple weeks. The cut off is 32 weeks for the local hospital which is 10 minutes from my front door. With my daughter I had to drive like 40 minutes each way to see her multiple times a day.

Every day counts. Try to keep your head up. One thing I try to tell myself through this all is that beyond all this stress that preterm labor/delivery brings we get a baby (you get two!) out of it.

We have 2 hospitals here in Orlando that has a level 3 nicu and I am at one of those.. I have delivered at this hospital before.

The closest hospital won't take me till 35 weeks and has a level 1 nicu.

I hope you get to deliver at the hospital closest to you!

They dropped my mag down today but now I feel the contractions again.. ugh..\

How do hospitals not "take" you if you are in labor? I'm confused! Shouldn't that be up to your doctor?

^Maybe she meant "not take you if you aren't in labor" (???)

Sending positive vibes your way and hope everything turns out okay. As crappy as the hospital may be, it might be the best place right now until everything calms down.

If the hospital doesn't have a level 3 NICU, they won't admit you there, but send you to another hospital that has the resources for a small preemie. I think that is what you are asking about?

We have two here - one with a level 3, and one with only a level 1. If I go early, I have to go to the hospital with the level 3, even though we would prefer the other one.

Thoughts and prayers are with you! I hope your babies stay put at least a little while longer.
