When I filled mine out it asked the question twice, the first allowing you to select as many options as applied, and then the second one asking you to pick just one identifying race, but I think those were for the parents. My husband is all Caucasian so I filled both out, but I am half black/half white so I filled out the first question but declined to acknowledge just one race for me.

Native American has been put on my kids' birth certs.

The reason this info is so important is so that you can track the heritage back and if there is a certain heritage, you have to show bloodline proof and tribe number (for N.A). So to help my children in the long run, that is what they are deemed.

Sophia will be Caucasian, since Troy and I both are. We have native American blood in both of us too, but not close enough to "count" in the eyes of the gov't.

I have two dads. My Dad died when I was very young and my mom remarried. My stepdad whom we call Dad is black. My family is bi-racial but their not blood relatives, all my blood relatives are white except for a Native American great-grandfather according to family lore (great-grandfather didn't stick around to meet my grandfather, he was raised by a stepfather). My family is bi-racial but I am not nor is my husband so my children are white.

Baby boy will be 1/2 white and 1/2 hispanic. So I'll have to see what the options are.....

Birth certificate will indicate causasion for all of us (if asked). Now, on our census form that we were required to fill out, we did mess with them a bit in the write in section, because caucasion wasn't an option. It said "white', but the other options were all politically correct, which we felt was wrong and should have read caucasion.
