Anyone not really planning to pack a bag for themselves until they go into labor?

I'm finding it difficult to pack a bag because I'm still using all the stuff! I'm thinking about just making a checklist so that we can get everything packed.

I'm not really packing anything ahead of time - I have a list made so that I won't forget anything and if I start getting contrax that are timeable I'll start putting the bag together. We live 5 minutes from the hospital so Chris can easily come home and grab something if we need it.

I am also just making a list and will pack when it's time. I also use most of the stuff daily and we live super close to the hospital so I think we'll have plenty of time.

Me! I have a list made and my bag sitting out but I use everything daily so I can't pack yet. My mom said if worse comes to worse and I can't pack the stuff because I am in pain she'll pack for me following my list. I doubt that will happen though, I should have plenty of time to throw my things in a bag.

I won't be packing until it's time to go for that reason too.. most of the stuff I want to bring, I use! So I made a list of everything I want and keep it next to the bag, so when I do go into labor, I know what to pack and hopefully won't forget anything Although I do have the stuff I don't use regularly in the bag already, like stuff for Nova and travel sized toiletries.

In most cases you will have PLENTY of time to pack a bag. I have my bags halfway packed with things like books and some granola bars, a couple nursing bras, etc. But there is still a lot of things that have to wait until it's really time to go. I mostley have just started packing because I'm excited and I want to do something to take my mind off of when I'm going to go into labor, lol.

I will just pack my bag once labor starts progressing. I am going to stay home for most of it anyways (if all goes well) so it is just one other thing that I can do to keep me busy. If I am unable to I am sure DH will. I don't plan on bring much anyways. DH knows what I need most of the time and we already have the coming home outfit sitting out. You are not alone

I'll be waiting. I don't want to have clothes and other stuff just sitting there. I think I'll get the stuff packed that I can...like toiletries and baby stuff...but I'll wait on the clothes and electronics.

Ive packed most of it (such as tolietries, Zoey's clothes, pads, pajamas, nappies) but will pack the last of it in labour (day clothes for me, hairbrush, camera)

I make a list and attach it the handle of the bag so when it comes time, I wont forget anything

I've packed most of it, and put a short list beside my bag of what I need to pack last minute.

I packed the stuff that I'm not using but will throw last minute things in when needed. I bought travel size shampoo and such that are in there, along with the stuff for baby but other things need to wait because I use them. I am a procrastinator big time so that doesn't help the situation. Guess I better make a list! I also have a feeling I won't go into labor on my own since with my other two I didn't!

I'm packed - mostly for two reasons. 1) we work about 40 minutes from the hospital (which is 20 mins from home) and 2) I'm 5cm dilated so we probably won't hang out too much at home before we head to the hospital.

Glad to hear lots of others aren't pre-packing. I was wondering if it was a viable option...it's hard to decide what to do when you're a FTM!

Thanks everyone!

I started packing because we are supposed to bring our bags to birth class to share next week. However there is a bunch of stuff(pillow, bra, hair brush, phone, camera...) that I can't pack ahead of time.

I did make a list of things to grab that is taped to our garage door. Because we're having a homebirth, if I do go to the hospital it will be an emergency and there won't be time to pack. My husband can run home and get things off the list if needed.

After hearing about a woman who gave birth in her car I did put together an emergency car birth kit.

I packed early this time. However, during my last pregnancy I waited until labor. As a matter of fact, I packed, bathed, cleaned house and put on makeup all before waking up the ex.

Not packign before labor and I don't have a list either, I am so unorganized. I'll just throw stuff in the bag and hope for the best.
