Had my growth scan ultrasound yestreday along with a 3d!!!! Baby is weighing in at 5 lbs 2 oz and looks good!!!!!!

Now if I can only figure out how to get his hands away from his face so when they do the ultrasounds I can see it. LOL every ultrasound I have had he covers his face with his hands. Camera shy I guess!!!

5 pounds 2 ounces that's awesome. I know the feeling with the ultrasounds. Every time we go in (twice a week) she has her hands or her feet in front of her face.

If you aren't having any complications to watch out for (placenta issues, gestational diabetes, small baby, fluid levels, etc) then typically you just get the anatomy scan that's around 20 weeks. I've had 3 so far and will have another one in 2 weeks, but that is because:
1.) The first ultrasound at 9 weeks
2.) The anatomy scan at 19 weeks
3.) Check my placenta placement to make sure it went back to "normal"
4.) I have gestational diabetes so they are checking the baby again at 36 weeks

I use an OB and for most of my pregnancy I was under the impression that I was only getting an u/s at 9 weeks and 20 weeks. I found out last week that because I'm having blood pressure issues, he's sending me for a growth ultrasound next week. I think they only do extra ones usually if they're checking things out because of complications.

I just had one at 31 weeks but they told me that is because of my age (39). Everything was fine so I won't have anymore. Most normal pregancies have their last U/S at 20 weeks so everything must be going good for you!

Thanks girls. I had an anterior placenta, I'll have to remember to ask if that calls for an additional screening or if they can just get a feeling.
