The most basic, and tastiest recipe for brownies I've ever had!
2sqares (1oz each) high quality unsweetened baking chocolate
8T butter (1 stick)
2 large eggs
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 t vanilla
Nuts, chocolates, candies or marshmallows if desired.
Preheat oven to 325F.
Coarsley chop chocolate and cut butter into tablespoons, melt together over medium heat until combined. Stir in sugar and remove from heat, cool it a bit. Stir in beaten eggs and continue stirring until completely combined. Stir in flour, vanilla and salt and anything else.
Bake 40 minutes.
Folks, trust me on this: less is more. Anything more complicated than this is a waste! They're the best base I've ever had. I've made them a hundred different ways and they're perfect every time.
