Had my 24 week appt today...my blood pressure was nice and low for once (yay! I have borderline HBP when not pregnant, and had to be induced with my first due to HBP). I'm measuring 25 weeks, which I will be on Monday, so that's right on. Everything is going well...I go in for my glucose test the 4th of August, and after my OB appt on the 8th I start going every two weeks!

I had a little scare last night, after not feeling her move all day...I went to check the HB and had a hell of a time finding it! I was almost going to start crying, when I found it. Whew! Usually it's loud and strong the second I put the doppler on my tummy. Ugh, just a few more grey hairs to add to my growing collection.

Bought a super girly Britax carseat on Target.com today for $100! I was coming here to let everyone know about the sale, but noticed Seattlite beat me to it. For some reason I can't reply to her post (there's funky formatting when I click on it ). Anyway, great deal for those Team Pink moms (today only, limited stock)!

Finally, I found a Hooter Hider on Craigslist for $10 in the pattern I wanted! Score! It's in great condition. I got this one: Bebe au Lait Shop: Hooter Hiders Nest Nursing Cover I was debating whether or not to get one....I nursed two babies in public places without a cover in the past, so didn't really want to drop the $35 plus shipping on one.

for a great appointment! That's scary about the HB scare but I'm glad you found it. Sometimes I wish I'd of gotten a doppler. I use my stethoscope now to listen

Awesome deal on the carseat - what a score!!! It's really cute, too!

I really wasn't looking to buy a convertible seat, but I love Britax and I know her infant seat won't last very long. Plus, all her other gear is totally gender neutral...it was fun buying something girly for a change! My 7 yo is in a Britax Regent, and will be for a couple more years (that one goes to 80lbs, and he's not even 50 yet).

I haven't had to use my doppler in so long because she moves a ton. I've even thought about selling it, but after last night, I'm keeping it until she's here! I was about ready to take a midnight trip to L&D or the ER!

I need to check Q's car seat tonight. Is it wrong that I'm hoping my car seat is expired so that I can justify getting the Britax deal?

Good news about the blood pressure and a good check up!

So glad the appointment went well--yay about your blood pressure! And glad someone was able to snatch up that car seat deal--so weird that the thread is formatted all weird, maybe JM was having a glitch when I posted?

Glad to hear your appt went well. YAY for your deals today. We have a Britax Decathelon and Marathon in super girly patterns. I love Britax carseats.

For some reason, I am seeing Beth's the same way too and there is no way to respond.

Glad the apt went good!

Just an FYI for those thinking of the car seat. The classic ones don't fit little babies at all, the new gen ones do. I have a classic Marathon that DS didn't fit in till he was 4 months old and he was/is a big baby. He was wearing 6M clothes at the point he started fitting in it. Most babies don't fit till 6-9M some time.

The sale was for the Roundabout (not Marathon). The Roundabout has lower straps than the Marathon, so smaller babies can fit it. Personally, I'm not planning on using it until she's out of her infant seat.

Actually on the Classics the Marathon the lowest harness setting is 10" and Roundabout is 11" on the lowest setting. If you click each seat name you'll see where a CPST has put together specs on both seats. She actually has specs on all seats on the market up till the new ones that are coming out.

Hmm, I was just going by this post (see #9) which included pics of the Roundabout and Marathon at their lowest settings with her 5 week old in each seat. I didn't actually check the manuals for each. Well, good thing I'm not counting on using it when she's first born then!

That's strange, her stats are off a bit from what Britax shows on it's website. Britax claims the Roundabout's harness heights go from 10.75 to 16.25 and the Marathon's go from 10.5 to 16. Roundabout is still higher than the Marathon, like you said. Wonder why such a difference in the pictures of the baby in the seats then? It really looks like the Marathon's straps are way higher at their lowest setting. Anyway! Done researching this as it doesn't matter in my case! LOL! Good warning for others who are wanting to use this seat from the start though. It's a bummer they put from 5lbs on there...totally misleading!

A lot of car seat makers put 5lbs and up on convertibles when actually most don't fit newborns at all. There is a really short list that actually fit newborns well. I think it's Combi Coccors, Graco MyRides, Sunshine Kids Radian, and First Years True Fit are the 4 I can think of. There is one Evenflo one but can't remember which model off the top of my head. Some of the newer generation Britax do fit newborns with this wedge thingy they sell, but they are only approved for the new gen.

Like I said my DS was a big baby (he was 21" at birth) and didn't fit into his Marathon till he was about 4 months. We also have 3 Complete Airs and didn't get the first one till he was 6 months, but even then he was on the lowest slot. I think now with him at 31" he's at the second slot on those. I'm not saying Britax Classics are bad seats, just most don't realize they don't really fit newborns or smaller babies well.
