Thanks everyone! I'm really proud of it. Lorena - I've been working on it on and off for about 6 weeks! It would have taken less time had I not been so busy and tired all the time! Now I'm going to sew him a stocking and hope it get done before Christmas, lol.

One square would have only taken me a day or so had I stuck to it, so it should have only taken 2-3 weeks =/ But, why rush? I have until December, lol! I knitted it all. I made each square individually and then sewed them together.

Wow, that's all i can say is wow!! I'm crocheting a blanket but its taking me forever. Well i started it over no joke 5 times because it's my first time doing something like this and i wanted it to be perfect. I'd get so far then realize i wasn't happy with the way it was coming out and unravel the whole thing! I can only do so much at a time though before it makes my hand hurt.

That is so perfect! He is going to cherish it forever! And you've officially inspired to make something else for my LO besides curtains!

I can't crotchet, makes no ever loving sense to me! So, kudos for trying! And since I'm left handed, I knit backwards, so when doing his initials I actually got about 20 rows in and realized it said SLK with the letting facing the wrong ways =) It happens, you will get it with practice!

wow i wish i knew how to make something like that. i knitted a scarf once for dh when we were dating... i never finished it and it sat on the needles for a long time. he always ased me when id be done so he could wear it.. but i thouht it was awful so i never finished so he couldnt wear it.

so to make it you make like knitted squares... and then how do u sew them together.. like by hand? i want to try to make this baby a blanket. lol

I did make each square, and then just take extra yarn and weave it through the edges to bind each together. I got the animal cloth patterns from ravelry.com, but had to make up the middle piece pattern myself.
