So Claire had what I'm guessing was a clogged tear duct. Yesterday it was pretty bad - yucky goop draining from her eye, all over in her eyelashes, bloodshot, etc. I googled it and found that you can put breastmilk in their eyes to help with a clogged duct or infection. I figured I'd give it a shot before calling our dr., so I put a few drops in her eye at each feeding and after only about 12 hours, her eye is TOTALLY cleared up! Seriously today it looks completely normal and there is no more drainage or goop. AMAZING! I have no idea why breastmilk would take care of that but I think it's pretty cool!

Just had to share in case anyone else comes across this problem!

I had never heard that!

Our baby had clogged tear ducts too and our dr had us wipe them a few times a day with a damp cottonball. We wiped from under the eye closest to the side of his head to under the eye closest his nose. But it took a few weeks to totally clear up that way!

You mean while she was nursing it went the "wrong way" and ended up in her tear ducts??? I've never heard of that happening!

Good to know! Addisyn had that problem, but it went away on it's own. I'll try that if it comes back.

after, when she pukes it comes out her nose, and nose is connected to the tear ducts so it came out that way too

I've used breastmilk to clear up my own eye infections before, it also works for ear infections or to heal cuts. Ir's the antibodies in it that do it, cool isn't it?

I had no idea! It really is miraculous that our bodies can make such a useful thing.

That doesn't surprise me! Kaylee had a rash when she came out and she scratched it with her nails and it turned all yellow and gross. Multiple Dr's saw it and said to clean it, then finally a nurse told us to put breast milk on it and it was gone in no time!!! Super cool
