My most recent one is to give her honey. I also constantly have people trying to get me to give her formula.

To let him cry it out when he was a week old. That still makes me so mad thinking about it!

To do xyz or you will be a horrible parent.

xyz can be a plethora of things.

If you don't parent like I do, then you are a horrible parent.

You are spoiling the baby by holding her so much.

"Just leave her alone and cry in her crib. About 20 minutes should do it. If she's still crying at 30 minutes, then maybe she really does need something."

Yea, don't think so!

My in-laws tried to get us to CIO when she was 3 days old

Her doctor told us to start her on rice cereal a few weeks before she turns 4 months old.

Luckily that's been it so far!

I was told to never nurse my baby to sleep, so they'd fall asleep on their own.
I was once told in the middle of either Christmas or Thanksgiving at a relatives that I needed to start CIO right then and there.
I've had lots of bad advice, but those really stick out for me. It seems to me the majority of bad advice comes from people whose children have left home, or people who never had kids, not all of it though.

You don't need to breastfeed, just wrapped and bind your breasts and go buy formula.

this isn't in regards to sam yet, but in regards to natalie - She's two, FLIP HER AROUND ALREADY she'll like it so much more! (in her car seat)

Not gonna flip her til she's outgrown the weight limit. Besides, she LOVES rear facing now that she faces timmy and the two of them tease each other in the car.

I'm holding her too much...this was at a week old.
Also, my MIL has been trying to get me to give her cereal since she was born. She gave it to dh the day he came home from the hospital...yeah. Apparently if I just give her cereal, her reflux and protein alergy will just disappear...

At 3 months (when i havent even given her cereal yet) she should have beans and tortillas!! (WTH???) THEN the SAME person said you need to give her the bottle more often instead of your boob b/c she doesnt do very well with a bottle!! REALLY???
Of course the whole dont pick her up all the time she will be spoiled right at 2 months old!!
Oh and sleep when they sleep..uh ya..i cant sleep on cue..and when will i get a chance to do what i need to do??
I could go on and on!! AHHH!!!

--CIO
--Get both babies on the same schedule...if you have to force one to eat or sleep then it will be worth it for you and make your life easier(regardless of how it inpacts my kids)
--Just give them cereal already...

I think sleep when they sleep is wonderful advice...I would KILL for the chance to do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I know as a FTM I didn't take advantage of it as much I should have...now with 4 kids there is no way it will ever happen.

travis had a rash so i thought it was from cloth diaper detergent.. went thru huge process to strip them and get on new detergent. never thought it could be reaction from amoxicllon-- was on it to prevent urinary tract infection- had kidney issues from birth--
so my mom in law was very adament about how i should give up cloth and go to pampers. she even said she was against cloth--

i spent a **** load of money on my diapers...i love them and not nearly as hard to care for as i thought it would be.
