Hi ladies!! I have SO much catching up to do! Forgive me!!!! I haven't had a computer for about a month now! I had my baby girl on 9/1 - I'll have to give my birth story in another post. But I had a question for you all. My dd wakes up EVERY time we put her down anywhere (unless shes in a VERY deep sleep). And even when she's awake, which isn't for very long she'll sit in her swing or vibrating chair for only a few minutes before she starts to fuss. She contantly wants to be held and I have a 6 yr old so I can't hold her ALL day and night. Plus, I need my sleep too!! Anyone have any helpful tips/tricks for a baby that always wants to be held? We've tried swaddling, we've tried the 5 S's from the Happies Baby on the Block, of course we put her down very gently when she's asleep as not to wake her up.....nothing's working!!!

First off I know exactly what you are going through. My one year old was the same way. I know how hard it is to accomplish anything with a "clingy" baby. Things that got me through it was baby wearing (sling, wrap) and the swing. Does Gabriella take a paci? If you are okay with pacifiers I would push push push it now. My one year old never liked-and I didn't push- pacifiers and it was really hard to soothe her. Lacey loves the paci because I have been teaching her to soothe with it since day one. Lacey also really loves the music and mobile on her swing. Congrats again on your new daughter!

Congrats on your little girl! Xander was the same way..I had to hold him all the time. I'd sit my computer next to me on the couch and type papers for school with 1 hand while I held him while he slept. He'd only nap for 15-20 minutes at a time and was constantly fussy bc of it. Honestly I didn't catch a break until he was 7 months when we used the Ferber method to teach him how to self-soothe. So far Archer is a little easier and I'm trying to put him down more often than I did with Xander at first (bc I admit..in the beginning I held him 24/7 cause I wanted to lol) so he gets used to having some space. Hopefully she'll give you a break!

on your little lady ..... I know its tough at this age, but the one thing I suggest is baby wearing.... it really helps us in so many ways. I hope things get easier. I know how hard it is having another LO to care for on top of your newborn.

I can't wait to read her birth story! I too, have been MIA and haven't finished my birth story. It seems I wake up and days over in a blink of an eye!
