Does your LO understand the word no yet?

How do you keep your LO from doing things they shouldn't be doing?

We're just starting to need the word no. Since she's not mobile yet it hadn't become an issue until now.

I think Sean is starting to understand it. Doesn't mean he always listens. I'm trying to keep consistent, and only say no when I mean to follow through with continuing with no and/or a redirect. It's hard not to say no and giggle at what they are doing at the same time sometimes though!

I think Tyson understands no, that doesn't mean he listens to me lol. I usually just say no and redirect him to something else.

I think Johnny knows the word no...he just doesn't listen either. He cries when I say no and move him to another situation.

I don't think she's grasped the meaning completely just yet but we're getting there.

She totally understands it, and HATES it. When I tell her no, first she'll stop what she's doing, look at me, smile and continue. When I go get her and tell her no again, she bursts into tears and gets SO mad.

Des is into EVERYTHING. I feel like I say no a lot. I don't think he really understands. I wind up having to pick him up and move him a lot. We did a lot of babyproofing, but he seems to go straight for whatever he should have (like the toilet bowl plunger, etc). He is still licking everything and putting everything in his mouth too. He has no fear. This morning he crawled right off the edge of the bed! DH caught him by the ankles when his head was about 1 inch from the floor. I'm just glad he goes to daycare. I don't think I could do it all day.
