I would have a drink on occasion while I was nursing DD. I would usually wait until after she nursed to have a drink so by the time she was hungry again it was on it's way out of my system. I haven't had a drink yet since Hadley has been born. I will probably wait until she is a few months old and little bigger.

Actually, you can drink a little. You can get these strips called "milkscreen" at target that tests how much alcohol you have in your system. When I had DD I used them maybe 3 times to see how long it took for the alcohol to leave my system and then just made sure I stayed outside that time window. Also, I figure one drink drunk very slowly won't accumulate enough to cause harm. I think the rule is, don't nurse if you're buzzed or worse. Plus, beer is supposed to be good for your supply!
