So...

Since Bella is allergic to eggs... her allergist has to administer her MMR shot. It is going to take at LEAST 2 hours to give her. They have to give her a little bit at a time, every 15 mins to make sure she doesnt have a reaction. My poor baby. I hope it's done via IV then so she isn't pricked a million times.

Has anyone been through this with older children?

Have you thought about not giving her the shot?

The only thing I would do, is delay it. But.... I dont want to delay it to much to where she is going to remember this torture. I am a for-shots shot mama. Lol.

Now if she has a reaction... of course she wouldnt be finishing the shot. I would stop right then and there!

Hopefully they will make it as pain free as they can for her since it will take so long. Just keep reminding yourself you'll get through it & she won't remember it

Do you think it would help to give her some Tylenol before you go? I know that it could help with some of the pain, but I don't know if they want her to have anything else in her system.

I would just dress her in something comfy, bring a favorite toy, and snuggle her all you can!

Our Doc told us not to give Tylenol before hand because there have been some studies showing that it can reduce the effectiveness of the shot.

I ladies.... I went.
I didn't give her any tylenol.. no antihistemine's NOTHING.... they advised not to that way when they were doing the "tests" they would be accurate.
Bella was 100% fine! No reactions to the shot =) Thank goodness!!!
