How much milk did your ped say your lo should get (once they are weaned off formula/breast milk of course) - I ask, because my ped said 10 ounces. No more than 14.

Michael is taking 12 ounces of cow's milk right now, and 12 ounces of breast milk. She was very firm to say that is way too much, and he should get a combined total of no more than 14.

She said its because he's still on a bottle that he is taking so much.

I don't want to take away his bottle just yet!!! I love my bottle time with him!

I would think he's "taking so much" because he's not eating enough somewhere else, which is FINE. Our ped doesn't have a "limit" on ounces or food quantity. He believes (like we do) that babies eat what they need when they need it.

Ruby hasn't had her checkup yet, but I don't remember our pedi giving strict limitation for the other kids? I mean, I think most of my kids were drinking 6 oz at a time. I wouldn't stress.

my ped didn't have a limit per se. He said 20 ounces min. IF they are not getting any other dairy. But when I asked him about a max he said no max, I think he would say not to over stuff Ethan, but he has about 22-28 ounces of milk a day depending on how much food he has. Sometimes less, sometimes more. I do not stress anymore about it

Our Pedi said no more than 24 oz but that it can come from other sources like cheese, and yogurt. Taylor is getting 12-13 oz in bottle (6 in the AM and 6 or 7 at bedtime) and then whatever she sips on during the day in her sippy cup. They give her milk in her sippy at breakfast, lunch and snacks but she isn't drinking a ton there.

My pedi also didn't give a limit. She said to start getting him used to drinking from a cup and once he does good with that, put milk in it.
She also said not to give milk in the bottle because they end up drinking too much

My dr said 16 - 20. Of course my dd doesn't drink that much alone from a sippy so I have to still put it in her food for breakfast lunch and dinner (I mix 5 ounces with each meal).
