Sears or JCPennys?

Please comment with thoughts/price ranges if you are familiar.

I want to get 6 month pics taken of Savannah.

UHHHHH....sorry....I have no comments I was just hoping there would be some comments too so that I could get Kaylen's 6 month pics scheduled too!!!! I still am not sure if I will take to target/penneys/ or sears or see if I can get a private photographer for a decent price....I would love to have pics taken of her in the house and at the lake in our neighborhood.....better start looking into it!!!!

uh, is neither an option? Seriously, find a good photographer. Even a photog just starting out is better than Sears or JCP.

I have to say that JCP is expensive...in m opinion. The CD is $149.99. I like to have the cd so i can send the pics to family and they can mke copies. I like putting them on FB and making photo cards. I haven't used or looked into Sears.

I use a private photographer. She has photo packages, but I just pay for the CD for $40 and order my own pictures. I'm getting Valentine pictures done on Sunday. She's letting me do outfit changes, too. So they are her 6 month photos, too.

You can usually get better deals (and more pics) with a private photographer and I feel like they are less rushed. We were soooo rushed at the JCP here and hardly got any pics.

If those are your only options JCP usually has better deals for print prices

We don't have JCP here, but I have had Sear portraits... and they are okay, but pricey. Everything is pricier here in Canada, so I don't really know if that's the case where you are.

I haven't had JCP, but I spent WAY too much at Sears a few years ago. I spent less at portrait Innovations. Whichever you chose, make sure to get coupons and bring them w/ you.

If you could, a young photographer would be a better/cheaper choice. Often they are nicer too.

Private photographers here in San Diego are so expensive. Im talking 800 dollars just for the session some a little less. So we use picture people. I have never been disappointed.

My step-dads nephew is a photographer. Not sure if I like his style of work. Some of the pictures I've liked and others I'm not crazy about. I figured places like Pennys or Sears would be cheap, but WOW! That's crazy.

I will contact his nephew and see what he can do.

Marika - if you don't like the nephew idea, my cousin is a pro photographer still trying to get her business going. She lives in the western suburbs of Chicago and is very reasonably priced. Let me know if you want her info too.

Honestly, for as much as you pay for those places, I think their work is cheesy & overrated. I took Sav one time & totally regret it.
To me, it's worth spending a little extra money to have a professional photographer with a real artistic eye rather than some high school student with access to a camera in a cheesy studio setting.

But if you must go with one of the two, check their websites out...They both have good deals at different times.

Good luck

We took Adele to Sears for her Christmas photos and we were pleased. We are taking her to Portrait Innovations for her 6 month photo this weekend.
