When I was pregnant we played for team green. We didn't know her sex until she came, so we decorated the nursery in a "gender neutral" jungle theme.

My MIL painted really cute pictures to match her crib bedding.

The thing is, now we are moving (just waiting for our house to sell) and I really want to decorate her room girly. Purple and pink, etc.

But I don't want me MIL to be upset. And I do really love the pictures she pained (see below) however they won't really go well in a purple and pink room!

WWYD? These are the paintings, I love them but I want my little girl to have a girly room!

I would re-do her room and keep those for next baby (assuming you're planning more). My sister bought Carter's crib set and she throws a fit any time I mention re-doing his room, but I'm gonna do it eventually anyway

Wow those pictures are amazing!! You could either save them for the next baby or if you have a spare room in the new house you could put them up in there as like the "play room."

I think those pictures are really cool. Will she have her own bathroom? You could do her room girly and the bathroomwith the jungle print.
Or a playroom, family room, hall to her bedroom...

Your mil is a great artist, does she sell her paintings?

I say do the Pink and Purple and find an equally nice place for your MIL paintings. Play room was a perfect suggestion or in the hall next to Baby's room just let her know u cherish the paintings but u want a Girly room as well. I'm not moving but I'm gonna change Zade's room up for his 1st bday

Yes, I would figure out a way to use these paintings maybe in the hallway to her room. They are awesome! I know what you mean about wanting a pink and purple room because that is what Arianna has and I LOVE it!!! She really loves her room too! LOL! We are totally girly with flowers and butterflies. Share the photos when you have them of her new room.

I absolutely LOVE them! I wonder if they would survive in a bathroom (because of humidity). Otherwise definitely find a proud place to hang them. They are too adorable and they have sentimental value.

Along with what everyone has said maybe tell her because you do love them ask her to paint some super girlie pics for her new room and put these in another room?

Those are really cute paintings!! I would save them of course and the playroom suggestion is a great idea. Also maybe tell your MIL that you loved her paintings for your DD and tell her that you put them in another place but them maybe ask her to do another painting for the new room?

The playroom is going to be in the basement, not sure how my MIL will feel about her paintings down there, but the hallway to avery's room is a great suggestion- as is asking my MIL to do some girly paintings! Thanks guys!

And no- she doesn't sell her paintings, just paints for pleasure :-)

I agree with Lindsey! Use them for the next baby or a playroom or a kids' bathroom. I love them, by the way!

If the basement is where the PR is going to be, she might like the idea that they will still be used for a "room" for Avery...I can't wait to see what she paints her her new room! She's really good but I definitely don't blame you for wanting to do a more girly room!

Can't wait to see it!

Those are super cute! I would redo her room more girly and save those for the next baby. You could always mention how much you love the paintings and see if she will do some more to go with her new room theme!? Will you have a playroom set up? Could you possibly use them in there or another room. I'm probably repeating others suggestions because I didn't read through all the replies.
