Today I decided to go on my first run around our neighborhood block. It's 0.42 miles long, and I figured I could run that for starters. Well, I did it! I had some pain around where my uterus is at first, but it gradually subsided (I'm guessing it was certain muscles?) The run wasn't too bad until about the halfway mark, then my legs started burning. But what was the hardest was my lungs! It felt like someone was piercing them!! So I made it, but definitely need to get my lungs and heart back into shape.
I am so proud of myself for taking the initiative to finally do it though!
Anyone else running? How was your first time? How is it going now?
I ran .80 of a mile my first run and I did it in 10 minutes. The thing that used to stop me before was getting cramps in my side and I didn't get one! I pushed myself for 10 minutes. My legs didn't hurt I just couldn't breathe. It's irritating watching a smoker run just fine when I haven't smoked a day in my life and I look 10x worse.
Good job girls! Keep up that awesome work. The first few times I ran I felt like I was 80 years old...every joint hurt! Proudly, if u stick with it it will come back quickly. I'm training for a half marathon and my longest run to date is 9 miles! The race is April 14 th so it's coming up quick.
Thank you Julka for my beautifully, perfect siggy!!
oh my goodness, 9 miles?! Good for you! I can't imagine running that far so soon after giving birth! I did a half marathon once, and it was so much fun, I would love to do one again someday but I really hate the long runs, haha.
I ran around the block again today, and it was harder on my legs instead of my lungs this time. Barely made it again, but I'm going to try my best to stick with it! I ran in the grass instead of on pavement since last time I ended up getting shin splints and I don't want them to get worse.
Just want to stay accountable to you ladies...last week and this week were great running weeks. I did 8 miles total last week with some walking thrown in. This week, I've done 6.6 miles and my long run day is tomorrow.
Well I decided to go ahead and sign up for a 5K for next month! It is a trail run so it should be fun, and I will try my best to run most of it! Tomorrow morning I am upping my distance to .65, then will go up from there until I get close to 3 miles for the race!
