Sorry that it has been forever since I have posted. I got a full time teaching job and am getting used to all of the hours and trying to be a mom for Marsi with all of her cardiology appointments and DH not having a job. Needless to say, online hours are few and far between.
Marsi had surgery to repair the vessels around her heart 3 weeks ago. She is healing great other than a pocket of fluid that is on her heart. The x-rays are already showing a decrease in her heart size!! Yay! That is what we want. Too bad about the fluid because she was on a week of meds and now another 5 days on prescription meds trying to get it to go away.
The coolest thing about post surgery is her energy level! She is a spitfire now! She loves her jumper. Also, since her metabolism isn't as if she was a marathon runner 24/7 she is gaining weight like crazy! I have fed her solids with no milk mixed in to try and get her less calories since my milk is so rich. She has still gained a pound in the last WEEK. She has gained 2.5 lbs since surgery day. Since surgery, she has moved up from 6 month to 9 month clothing. She is now 18.5 lbs and 27 inches long. Massive girl.
All in all, we are busy but good. We have several more doctor appointments the first of next month to look at the fluids and for her well child appointment. I love my little heart patient. She is so fun to come home to after a long day teaching business to 7th graders.
Thank you *kiliki* for my beautiful siggy!

Great news about her surgery. It is wonderful she is healing so well.
I imagine she is going to make up for lost time being ornery Which is great!
She sounds very healthy for her age/size. She probably was not really meant to be smaller and is putting on the weight she was meant to have, kWIM? Since it was so hard for her to eat and she was using so much energy to just do normal tasks, it was taking a lot from her. It is great to see her looking so bright and healthy!
Out of curiosity, have they decided anything about her soft spots? Didn't you mention they were closing early? Just wondering if they were worried about it or if it was a non-issue.
