Does anybody have any suggestions for summer beach reads? It seems like all the books on my "to read" list are just a little too serious to read by the pool this weekend.

Maybe something funny on motherhood? I read "Sippy Cups Are Not For Chardonnay" and I thought it was hilarious! Did anybody else read that one?

That one sounds good, but I haven't read it. I have the Shades of Grey trilogy that I hope to start soon. I think my hubby will be glad. LOL

I've never read the book either but does sound funny.

I'm currently reading a Karen Kingsbury book. It's part of a 9/11 series and to me wouldn't be fun to 'relax' to. I do enjoy sitting down and reading as it's good but sometimes sad and really brings light to 9/11. Not a poolside book.

How about Chicken soup books? They have some for the mothers soul(I think) and they are nice short stories that would be fun (for me) to read and relax to.

That's funny that you mention that! I'm actually reading the Chicken Soup For The Mother's Soul right now. It is good, but there are some sad stories in there, just as a warning to anybody that's interested in reading it. They're really good and I love short stories because then I can read however many I have time for. But typically, I can only read a few at a time because they pack more punch that way and while you know some are going to be sad from the beginning, others sneak up on you!

I really like Chicken soup for the soul books. My mom bought me the pregnant soul when I was pregnant and I enjoyed reading them. Well, for the most part except when they were sad and on top of being emotional during pregnancy sometimes I'd sit and cry. But, it was one of my favorite readings.
