Does anyone know if being sick can make a baby's iron levels low?
Nattie had her iron checked today and it was low. She is running a fever though so I don't know if I should worry about her iron or not. She has her 1yr check in 2wks.

Yes, it can. I forget the whole explanation as to how it can but when Dominic had a bad fever and was hospitalized for 4 days with a UTI his iron was quite low as well.

I had no idea, but looks like Shalaine and Ro had good answers! I'm sorry Natalie is sick!

They said it was 10.3 and normal is 11.3
What that means I don't know. They gave me all this sguff on what to feed her for more iron, but she was obviously sick. The lady even gave me a Kleenex for her runny nose.

I'm not too sure about that, but I know low iron isn't good... I'd call the Dr. if you are concerned it is affecting other things. KUP!

I didn't know that about the iron levels dropping so easily. I hope she feels better quickly!
