Who's read it, reading it, herd of it, and has no want to read it?

What's your opinion?

I've heard of it. I would try reading it if I ever actually got around to buying a book and sitting down to read!

I read the first two. I will start on the third when I finish a hard copy of another book I'm reading.
It's ok. It's based on Twilight, & I didn't love that either, but Twilight is much better since there is more substance to those books. 50 Shades is just sex with a watered down story line to break up different sex scenes. I almost fell out of my seat when I read there would be a movie. What the heck will the movie be about?? There isn't enough non sexual content there to make a movie.
Anyway, my overall opinion is the books are ok. I don't love it or hate it.

I've read them. They were entertaining, but not award-worthy or anything. I can't believe they're going to make a movie either. I guess if you make the movie based on all three there would probably be enough- the third one is kind of ridiculous with all the stuff that happens.

I've heard quite a bit about them. At first I really wanted to read them, but I keep hearing more and more that the writing is a disaster. I like books with a little bit of substance, even fluff books need a plot.

I'm on the 2nd book & I really enjoy them! Although, I went into them knowing it wasn't going to be an amazing piece of literature.

The books started out as fan fiction, so it's not like a real author spent years writing these books. People got into the story line & the "author" was asked to turn it into books.

So for what it is, I'm really enjoying them. It's a fun read.

I've heard of them, have it ready to upload to my e-reader, and haven't heard all that many good things about them.... I'll still give it a try, but am prepared to be unimpressed.

I've heard of them, but haven't bought them. I may read them. My friend said I could use her Kindle log in, but I am definitely an old-fashioned book kinda gal.

I'm the opposite. Even if a book is not my taste, I will read it if there is a lot of controversy surrounding it, just to be in the know I guess. People ask me to rate and recommend books for them all the time...maybe I should start a website.
50 Shades...no, but I did, for example, end up reading The Da Vinci Code and The Hunger Games, and I probably would not have if not for the massive uproar surrounding them. I'm glad I did. Great books.

I read #1 and #2 and I am still on #3. I am really enjoying them!

I am not someone who reads much, but I found them an easy read, and I really enjoyed it. The only reason I decided to read them was because someone gave them to me for free and I wanted to know what the fuss was about. LOL

I don't know why there is so much controversy around the books though... There is lots of SEX, but I've read more detailed stuff before. ...like I said I don't read much mostly because I can never get past the 3rd chapter..but this one took me in. I do like the story in it, I honestly found it addicting, esp. the first book, always wanting to know what would happen next. I can see how they are not THAT great written and a bit repetitive. I also love that everyone is reading it and we can talk about it!

BTW, I have copies of the PDF for all 3 books. IF anyone wants them, PM me your email address and I'll send them!

I also wanted to say that I think once something gets popular there are just people out there who don't want to like what everyone else likes. I find that with lots of stuff. At first everyone I heard of LOVED it and then over time I'm hearing more and more people not liking it. I find that interesting.
