Yesterday, Elise fell in the kitchen and bit her tongue. It never occurred to me that it could happen cause she doesn't have teeth yet. After the initial bleeding, she seemed okay for the rest of the day. Shopping and 2 walks plus swinging in the park helped to distract her a lot. That and the tylonel I gave her.

But overnight was really rough. The wound kept opening back up and she got blood all over her crib quilt. I never want to see my child bleeding like that again--it was heart wrenching.

She seems to have turned the corner now thank God! And DH brought home some oxyclean so I've got all her bibs, burp cloths and shirts clean again.

Mouths bleed really badly because they are so vascular. I'm so sorry she got hurt. Sadly it probably won't be the last time. I hope she is better today.

Oh my goodness!! I totally know what you mean, seeing our babies in pain and/or bleeding hurts us more than it hurts them.

Ouch! Lilli bit her lip while she was in her crib playing once while I was getting ready. I went in there and there was blood dripping. Freaked me out. I bet that was scary for you. Poor thing!! And with no teeth! Wow

awww. It happens.

My oldest licked my razor once (don't ask, I have no idea how she managed it), and her tongue bled for what seemed like hours. It was relentless.

When she was 18mths old, she reached for her bottle that fell from her arms. She was on my lap, and she leaned over to get it, and she fell off and busted her lip open. She also bled like crazy with that as well. She still has a bump on her lip where it happened.

Awww hope she's feeling better today.
Unfortunately, the odds she won't bleed like that again are about slim to none. Anything above the neck bleeds like CRAZY.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your kind words! Yes, she is feeling much better today. Her wound just looks like a little slit now, amazing how such a small cut could bleed so much, eek!

And all the blood washed out of the crib quilt! Even the embroidered parts--whoot!

Oh no! Sorry I missed this the other day, I'm glad she's doing well and the sheets washed. Poor peanut! So much scarier for mommy and daddy when that type of thing happens.
