I brought ours out for the first time yesterday. With Charlie getting into everything now and my desperate need to pack and get everything organized I stuck him in it for a little bit so I could get some packing done. He didn't seem to mind it. He was pretty cute actually just sitting in there with his snack, reading his books.
We use ours just as a crib since we're short on space. I occasionally bring it out if the kids are being especially disrespectful of each other's personal space so they can have some room to breathe. It's pretty cute because one kid will smoosh their face or hand against the netting and the other kid will push them. Giggles ensue.
We used it when we went camping. We were in a cabin so it worked out well. I have gates in my living room that I kind of use like a play pen. Not that he would really play in there without me right next to him. He always cries when I leave the room.
