Gabby has been drinking water from a sippy cup since she was 5 months old, just in the last month or so she has started choking on it every time she takes a drink. I've tried different cups and the result is the same. She doesn't have any problems drinking from a bottle or eating solids. I don't know if she is sucking too much at once or what, but it freaks me out!
Lily kind of did the same thing. I think because in a bottle, babies can control the flow. Also with solids, you're not shoveling food into her mouth causing her to not be able to swallow fast enough. My point is, I think she may just be getting more than she can comfortably swallow. We are no longer using sippy cups but stopped for a different, unrelated reason.
Eleanor isn't doing this with sippy cups, but she had been drinking out of a regular cup with meals (I would help her hold it), and a few weeks ago she started coughing every time she drinks from a regular cup. I think it's probably just a phase
