I didn't really "cheat". The only thing I did while pregnant with Nattie that I felt guilty about, was I had pneumonia, and I took tylenol cold and advil,. I didn't think anything of it until I was told she had a heart problem that could be caused from taking ibuprofen. Luckily, it resolved.

I was told nasal spray is fine, caffeine in moderation is fine, lunch meat is fine, tuna is fine in moderation and even aspartame is fine.

The only thing I was really hardnose about was medicine. I only took prenatals (which I was actually really, really good about), Tylenol as needed and of course my Zofran for my godawful morning sickness. But otherwise I was relatively lax in my opinion. I did sushi, soda, sweets, lunchmeat, seafood, hotdogs...pretty much whatever I wanted. I also had a couple glasses of wine once I was overdue in a desperate attempt to coax my body into labor (no such luck). But I DID drink an insane amount of water while I was pregnant, so that was good .

After having Ava (who is still undiagnosed at nine!) I did not cheat at all. Being 40, carrying twins and having a special needs kid pretty much made me an OB's dream.

Those "rules" have changed so much over the years and even vary doctor to doctor that I wasn't too concerned. I had never even heard of the lunchmeat thing until I was about half way through the whole thing-and I only heard about it here!

I didn't hardly follow any rules, didn't even totally avoid alcohol, except the cat box rule. hee hee

Hmm. Let me try to remember...

I gave up coffee. I did drink herbal teas and rarely had diet coke. The thought of lunch meat made me sick so I didn't eat that. I dont renember if i ate hot dogs. I followed the medicine rules and took my prenatals everyday except I had about 2 weeks that I slacked. I took hot baths. I slept on my stomach until it hurt to do so. I would often fall asleep with a heating pad on my achy body. I don't eat sea food or sushi so no problems there. I had a sip of champagne when we told everyone we were pregnant.

I had GD so I followed that diet. I ate pretty well. I did follow the no kitty litter rule. DH hated that.

Am I forgetting anything??
