We are leaving Thursday afternoon for a camping, fishing, hunting trip and won't be back until Sunday eve. And, I'm super busy before then getting everything ready and packed. And, next weekend and the weekend after that will be the same way except that we will be leaving early Thursday morning both those weekends.
It's been a family tradition in DH's side of the family for many years (like past 20 or so I think) to do this and so it will be nice to be with all the in-laws! And, I'm looking forward to roasting marshmallows, smokies, and Thursday night we are planning on roasting hotdogs if we get up there in time - I love sitting around a campfire keeping warm.
The thing I'm not really looking forward to is staying in a tent with an almost 1 yr old. That will be a new experience - just hope she does well.
The campfire thing...love that tooo...I have no clue what "smokies" are but dont for get to make smores...ooooooh yum.....we like those so much we use our gas to make them sometimes..yuuummmmmmmmmmm
smokies are in a way like little sausages. I'm not sure how exactly to describe them but I buy the all beef kind and when roasted over a fire they sizzle in their own fat and are really good!! But, so fattening!
Smores does sound good. You mamas make me want one right now!! I'm sure I'll eat your share also Holly
Jenny - I'd prefer a camper also but we don't have one. I'd love to have the money to get one some day though. DH's parents have a camper so we use their trailer a lot for things like quick bath and re-heating most of the food.
Baby #2 is on the way!!

We all had a great time and I'm looking forward to this weekend!! Kynslee loved it and we had a very hard time keeping her from eating the dirt and rocks! She loved being outdoors all weekend and also being able to be with grandpa and grandma all weekend long since we were camping with them and splitting the costs. Kynslee got a huge knot on her forehead and head on Sunday right as we were getting ready to leave as she accidentally fell out of inlaws trailer - the door wasn't closed all the way and she somehow pushed it open and she fell down the steps and hit the ground.
We are going to be leaving again early Thursday morning so I'll be gone for a few days again.
I hate it when they get hurt - you feel so useless as there isn't much you can do but offer comfort. Kynslee tries to climb but we are cramped as far as space go so we don't have much space to climb on things. She does try and remove the dvd's and then try and climb inside the entertainment center though.
