Date? Im thinking around sixteen. I dunno, we've got some years to go before we need to decide
Go places without you? Sterling and Bryce were both two when they started going with Grandma, Grandpa, or Aunt Heidi places like the zoo or museums or the store. I guess with Iz, a lot of it will have to do with how her cardio appointment goes next year if two will be the magic number for her as well.
Drive a car? depends on their maturity level. My dad was teaching me in the school parking lot at thirteen
Watch an R rated movie? Depends on the movie. If I watch it and think it hasn't earned its rating, they might get to see it now. Sterling is at the age where he is more and more aware of the world and if the subject matter was right, we might watch together and discuss. Kid understands and has opinions on some pretty mature topics already and he is only seven!
Get a tattoo? Eighteen because I cant stop them by then And no, I'm not saying I would never want them to get a tattoo but I would like if they had a little maturity so they don't end up with tats they regret.
Date? That's a bridge we'll cross when we get there but I doubt any younger than 14 or 15 (that's when I remember dating).
Go places without you? I don't know lol, my oldest is 11 and he has gone to a few things by himself - with school though so I don't know if that counts. I do let him go to the video game section at the store while I shop but he has a cell phone and knows not to leave the store or go with/talk to strangers ect. That's about the furthest I've ventured with letting him do stuff alone.
Drive a car? Permit at 15 and DL at 16 and then we'll see how the maturity is and decide from there when he'll be able to drive himself around.
Watch an R rated movie? My oldest two already have, we like scary movies so it's just not a big deal there. As long as they're not full of sex I could really care less about blood and gore.
Get a tattoo? 18 is the soonest they'll get one because I will not OK that and really I hope they never feel the need to get one.
Go places without you? If going with a relative or family friend that's responsible then probably around 2. But, just by theirselves with no one - I'm not sure a lot of that will be going on. Maybe walking/riding bike home from school (if live close enough obviously) when about 10 or so. There are just too many strange people in this world and can pick up a kid before the kid knows what's going on.
Drive a car? 16 is when you can get a drivers license but will probably start at 15 when they can get a permit. Driving by themselves is something that DH and I would have to judge if they are ready and responsible enough.
Watch an R rated movie? Really depends on the movie and what's in it that gives it an R rating.
Get a tattoo? I guess 18 since I'd have no say by then.
