BOOGERS.

Both my girls are recovering from colds, and the past few days have been so snotty! This morning Alexis sneezed and two giant ropes of neon green snot just shot out of her and hung out on her lips. I about died! I moved in with tissue like lightening, but the damage was done, I was already grossed out the the point of setting down my toast.

It only gets grosser as they age. My 4 year old always forgets to use a tissue, and instead opts to wipe her nose with her hand. Leaving gross shiny trails over the backs of her hands and across her cheeks. It's sooo gross.

Gross, gross, gross.

snot is definitely nasty, but after spending 7 years as a CNA, working side by side with a respiratory therapist, it's rare the kids can gross me out.
If anything, I find it FASCINATING such a small child can produce such impressive amounts of snot. I mean honestly, their nose is the size of a nickel, their sinuses are the size of a milk cap, if that, yet, a stream of boogers a foot long?? HOW the heck?!

I hate the boogers stage! M is usually good about them now, K still doesn't. He tries to ignore them. little rose runs away when she sees me coming in for the wipe! That girl can sure move fast for being so little.

Kaylee is sick right now too, and I am soooo with you on how gross it is!!! She already tries to wipe it off her nose too so she ends up with dried snot all over her face (especially after a nap) and hands.

She also HATES to have her nose wiped, so not only is it gross, it's such a constant battle with extra meltdowns. *sigh*

Boogers don't gross me out that much. I'd take boogers over poop or puke any day. Though I have to agree with Kara, it is impressive how much they can fit in there.

Haha yeah they are gross. They don't really gross me out very much though. Definitely not as bad as puke or poop in my opinion!

Oh yeah, Brynlee has had these huge, hard boogers lately. She won't let me pick them out and they drive me INSANE.

When she was really sick in February, I hated the globs of gooey snot all over her face, dried in her hair, and on her clothes from dripping out.

She, too, HATES the wipe. If I hand it to her, she will "clean" her face and then she doesn't have as big of a meltdown when I wipe her face.
