Will you be doing anything special this year as far as keeping baby away from the Christmas tree? i.e. putting a gate around it, getting a smaller tree to put in some corner, etc. or are you just going to keep a close eye on the baby? Anyone not putting a tree because of little crawler/walker?

I will probably move my dining room table somewhere else and put the tree in the middle. I usually have the dining room gated off because that's where my rat cage is. So It would be easy to put the tree in there, I don't have to use a special gate, just the normal one

Knowing Pea, she will be terrified of a Christmas tree.

We'll put up our tree and just see how Grey does with it. DS2 was 11 months (and walking) on his first Christmas and it wasn't a problem, so we'll see how Grey does and go from there.

Our Christmas tree will be in our dining room, which I keep gated a lot of the time. I will also try to keep the ornaments out of his reach.

We will just keep a close eye on her, she knows her boundaries pretty well already, so it wont be hard to keep her away from it!

We'll put it up like normal and try to keep him away & see how that goes... will be interesting since he's way more into things than my dd was. We will however probably put most ornaments up higher on the tree. We might hold off putting the tree up until after his birthday (Dec 15) to minimize temptation, but not sure.

I have no idea what we are going to do. We havent put one up the last couple of years because of the cat. I know she will be all over it. But we have to do one this year. We have a sunroom that is seperate from the house by a sliding glass door so we may put it out there.

We will have the Super Yard around it. We used it when Stella was smaller and it works wonders. I still get to enjoy my tree in the living room and I do not have to worry about Duncan toppling it over.

We put the superyard in front of it. Last year I was able to leave it in the open with a 2 year old so this will be the last year I have to gate it off

my ornaments are plastic after having 2 Christmas's trees fall over and smash all of the glass ones. And I use ribbon to tie them to the tree so nothing can really get harmed nor harm her if she pulls them off. We will be tying the tree around the banister of the stairs so that it cant tip. otherwise it will be like any normal year.

Tree going in the formal living room, which is off limits per my grandma. We have 50 plus year old glass ornments on the tree, she's weird about it

I haven't decided yet. I think he will be pretty good with the tree. He listens to "no" very well now these past few weeks. I think he'll be fine with the big tree in the livingroom. If not, I'll move it to the dining room. Part of me wants to skip it because we have sooo much travelling to do this holiday season but DS1 would be super bummed. We decorate together I think I may just cut back on the amount of ornaments this year.

..& to answer Miranda's question: a cat is worse!! LOL

SOOOOOO.... How's it going with the Christmas trees everyone?

We set ours up and surprisingly he has been great! He likes to take off ornaments & move them around to different branches but no throwing or dropping. ..yet.. LOL. Wahoooo! He loves to stop & stare at the lights ..& then get back to playing with his brother. Haha. AWWW. Christmas time will forever remind me of bringing babies home last year.

We're doing good with the tree as well. Gio also likes to look at the lights, and point to them too! He has taken some ornaments off a quite a few times but other than that it's been going well!
