What are you using? Our pedi recommended we switch to 2%, but I'm not sure about this. DD does not always eat well, so my concern is that she gets enough calories.

What do you use?

I've heard whole milk/breast milk is the customary recommendation up until age 2. I've heard there are some reasons a doctor would recommend 2% instead. Did your doctor tell you why?

We're still using whole milk right now as well, Rebecca is really small and doesn't eat very well, so I feel like she still needs it. I see my pedi in a couple of weeks, and I was actually going to ask her when the transition to 2% is normally made, but I don't plan on switching Rebecca until close to her 2nd birthday.

I think he is concerned that she is drinking too much milk...

We use full fat milk. I think the standard is to use full fat until at least 2 years old.

We use full fat milk for the kids. DH and I use 1%. I actually switched my oldest back to full fat milk b/c she was on 2% and I didn't want to buy 3 different kinds of milk. I'll switch both girls to 2% a little after LO turns 2.

The standard is whole until age. That said, I buy 2% for all of us. When dh shops he buys whole.
Like pp said, I'm not going to buy and have opened several containers of milk.

Whole milk here. I won't think about switching her until at least 2. I thought doctor's only recommending switching if they were gaining too much weight.

We do 2% but my 18 month old eats more than my 3 y/o. I kept the 3 y/o on whole milk until she was 2 1/2 because she really isn't a big eater and got most of her calories from milk.

BM and 2% here. Only because ds can't quite handle whole just yet. Within 15-20 mins of comsuming whole...it's back up I figure he gets enough calories from breastmilk that the 2% is just getting him used to reg. milk.
