10 years ago we had a full out, no expense spared wedding. White dress with long train and tuxes in a church followed by a fully served meal with a big dance.

Awe to be young, in love and have no other expenses or responsibilites.

JOP here. We had 10 people there and a small reception at a park after with cake and cider (I was 18.) I'm not one for being the center of attention and wasn't comfortable living with DH before we were married but wasn't allowed to date him and live with with my parents and I knew I was going to marry him anyway :-)

I said full wedding but it was a breakfast wedding so although we did have a meal and "dance" everything was done by noon!

We went to the JOP at the courthouse. We entertained having a full wedding, but things got stressful, crazy expensive, & just not worth it.
We went to the JOP on a Thursday, had dinner that night, then left saturday & honeymooned in Jamaica for 7 days.

I'm not really sure what to vote. We had a minister we paid to come to our location, which was a backyard. I wore a dress, DH wore a casual suit, but we didn't have a wedding party, and we didn't walk in or anything. We just sort of stood in the yard and told people to be quiet. So it wasn't a huge full wedding, but it wasn't really a JOP type thing either. We did exchange vows, and there was a prayer said. We had a BBQ/pot luck afterwards, and there was an open bar. After the ceremony we all just proceeded to socialize in the yard into the night.

JOP wedding here. We ate at a restaurant afterwards. It was just me, my mom, husband, and my best friend there. I got married on Friday, husband was deployed the following Monday.

I really wasn't sure what to put but I voted full wedding because to us it was. We had 25 guests and a non-religious ceremony outside on the top of a mountian though a local-ish wedding chapel. We came down the mountian and had a reception with those 25 people.

I call that a ceremony. Ceremonies to me are more for the bride & groom & less of an event. It's really about those two people & less about who came to celebrate. Think two people on the beach with an officiant & photographer or getting married on a cruise where just the two of you dress up & stand in front of an officiant.
A full wedding to me is an actual event with the clothes, certain participants, an audience, & some sort of celebration or party following the vows.

We went to a small wedding chappel. It was a lovely little place, very quaint and pretty. A very nice reverend married us. I wore a tea-length wedding dress that I LOVED, carried some flowers, and we exchanged some really beautiful vows. It was a Tuesday afternoon and I was surprised that 20 people showed up because I expected it to be just us. We had pasta & salad that evening at his parents' house with about 50 people. It was perfect. Simple and uncomplicated, with all the important parts.

As a wedding officiant, I have seen weddings of all kinds. Huge ones, tiny ones, expensive ones, ones done on a tight budget, ones with full bands, ones with no music at all, and in the end we are all married equally. So, personally I think those who put so much into it (so many details, so much money, etc) could be done so much less stressfully. That's just my opinion, but the common thing I have seen is the larger weddings with all the tiny details are usually the ones where the bride is crying and the wedding party is all stressed out and worrying about this or that. Just something I have observed, and of course it's not the same across the board. I had one bride who cried and cried and cried because her ice sculptures arrived late. OMG really? LOL

Full wedding here. We got married in a beautiful church with stained glass windows, the organ went up the whole wall of he church. We had our reception at a hotel down the street. It was so much fun! A last party before starting navy life.
