Do any of you mamas have a picky eater? Or, is your LO a pretty good eater?
Kynslee will eat really good when it's something she likes but she is picky about what she does like. We have a hard time getting her to eat meat. The best way for us to get her to eat meat is to roll in a tortilla with cheese and put in the microwave to melt the cheese - kinda like a quesadilla. We always put whatever we are eating (for the most part) on her highchair and try and encourage her to eat some of it. She'll often try and little of whatever it is and then spit it back out or toss on the floor Anyone have any good tips on trying to get her to eat what we are eating? It's not like we are eating things that a child wouldn't like or I'd maybe understand. We often have to end up giving her cheese, crackers, fruit, or something similar just so she'll eat something; But, we don't give her something else right away. We usually will keep getting her to try and eat whatever we first give her. Or, she'll eat about 5 bites and seem to like it and then start screaming and wont' finish the rest of the meal.
Nara is a pretty good eater. She'll eat pretty much anything you give her. The only thing she's picky on is meat. She's much rather have rather eat "vegetarian". so I just give her a bit and let her eat what she will then will try again later.
Can you hide stuff in the things she will eat? Maybe let her eat her 5 bites then try again later?
Izzy isn't picky but we've gone through stages with both the boys--we just keep putting it on the plate, they keep trying. Some things they come to like, some they never like. Bryce was very anti-meat for a long time so we made sure he got other proteins (cheese, peanut butter, etc) and now he eats the meat first lol
I'm thinking she'll come and eat meat eventually - hopefully! But, right now it's just hard to get her to eat some things. I think she likes variety. Because, even in foods she loves to eat she'll eat some then want something else then maybe go back to whatever she first had. So, I only give her 1 thing at a time. I do try and get proteins into her in different ways - she likes eggs, crackers or toast with peanut butter and string cheese. I just hate having to often fix her something else then what we are eating or in the middle of eating have to get her something else to be sure she gets enough food.
With all three kids, I have always just put a little of everything on their plate and let them eat what they want. I tend not to worry if they don't eat much because all of mine go through periods where they barely nibble and then another meal I may refill their plate four times The only time I will get up and fix them something different is if I am trying a new recipe and they hate it.
