When I had Will, the doctor had to break my water. So I didn't feel (or see) anything, since I was lying in my hospital bed. So I was wondering, what is it like? Do you feel it from the inside, like a sensation of having to pee or something? What does it look like, is it clear, or cloudy?

Just wondering! LOL

I never saw mine either. My understanding is that it is clear to cloudy liquid at it's best.

I had mine broken both times too, but it was clear and I could definitely tell that it wasn't pee. In my experience it was also a LOT more liquid than I have ever peed in one sitting lol

Mine broke on its own with James. For me it was just a constant trickle and not a big gush. I didn't feel anything.

The dr broke my water, too. But I felt it! It was insane.

You didn't feel your water get broken? Mine was seriously like someone dumped a swimming pool down there. Like...I felt the POP and the WHOOOOOOSSSSSH of all of the water and I felt it flood the bed.

Ok, mine has broken on its own twice - both times were different.

The first time, it felt like I was peeing on myself, which made sense since I had to pee. I was able to make it to the bathroom before I gushed all over everything - literally.

The second time I was on the toilet and I heard a small pop sound. Then the flood gates opened. Every time I stood up I gushed - it seemed like there was no end to the fluid.

I have no idea what color the fluid was - either the clothes soaked it up or I wasn't paying attention.

No, because I had had an epidural and was numb!

Oh well that makes sense....

I didn't have epi when they broke mine. I didn't feel much except water gushing out onto me and the bed. I was so paranoid that I was bleeding I kept asking DH to look. hahahhaa

I think when it happens you will just know. But you and I are in the same boat girlie

Mine broke on its own literally 5 minutes after they sent me home from the hospital. I was walking to the bathroom and I felt pressure and then a gush. After it broke my contractions were HORRIBLE and we went back to the hospital (luckily we lied right up the street). In less than 3 minutes I dilated from 3 to 6. But yeah for me I DEFINITELY knew it was my water bc it was totally uncontrollable and it didn't smell like pee.. It didn't really smell like anything

I had the same experience as Mandy. It was horrible, just gushing out everywhere it started leaking off the bed and just kept coming and coming. And because Kaitlyn was overdue it was full of meconium so it looked like poop water. YUCK. Not a good memory for me at all.

With kiera I heard/felt a pop, and then a very warm (warmer than pee) liquid come out. I don't know what it looked like, but I assume clear.

David my water was broken for me and I felt like I was covered in warm bath water.

Katelynn it broke at home on its own I thought I peed the bed.

Everett it exploded while I was pushing him out.

I thought it was the neatest sensation! haha
Doc broke mine but I didn't have the epi so I felt it. I could definitely tell it wasn't pee...It was a ton of hot liquid that I had no muscle control to stop the flooding. Very neat. haha
