I am pretty sure that's what I have...back by my top wisdom tooth. There's this huge white swollen...thing. My tooth is still impacted, but I think one corner is trying to pop through the gum. I am in so much pain. I called the dentist yesterday and they don't have any openings until 1pm on TUESDAY!! I've already been hurting this whole week.
Omg yes I have and it sucks so much! I had to have a root canal. I went into urgent care and then prescribed me antibiotics to get rid of the infection. I also took a lot of pain mess because it was pretty miserable when I wasn't medicated. I'm sorry you have to go through it! Tooth pain is the worse kind of pain.
Well I went ahead and called the Dentist's after hours line and the same lady I talked to for the last 2 days answered. She said it does sound like an ascess and that she is going to call the dentist and see if he will prescribe antibiotics and pain meds.
I told her everything I've been doing and she said that if none of that works or even helps at all (and none of it does) then it HAS to be a serious infection.
I plan to get my wisdom teeth out next month anyway, but holy crap...this thing HURTS!
Mandy, if you need wisdom teeth (or any teeth) out I reccomend Dr. McPhillips in Bedford. I had all 4 impacted teeth out yesterday (actually one was just barely poking out of my gums and already had a deep cavity.) Anyway I read great reviews about this Dr. I have had absolutely NO pain and NO swelling whatsoever.
