Anyone else have kids who do this? My kids call daddy by his name more than half the time. I know Layla did it because she heard me saying it, & I know Xavier does it because he hears Layla saying it, but it still surprises us.
When Xavier says it, "Tim" comes out "Temp".
Nope, hasn't been a problem for us. My older kids call me Rachel to get on my nerves and of course W&C call me Rachel, so Daniel and Keelan hear that and Daniel will sometimes call me Rachel, but I don't respond to him.
Not yet for Alexis, but Kairi knows both our names and will use them. We felt it was important to teach her because you never know when she's going to need our names. Everyone is mommy or daddy and that doesn't help in a situation where she needs to identify us KWIM? Still, emergencies aside, it always makes me laugh when she yells at us by our names.
Jenna calls DH by his name allll the time! It used to drive him nuts, but he's learned to ignore it. I use his name fairly often, and with very few exceptions cannot and will not call my husband Daddy. I do refer to him as Daddy when talking to my kids about him (like "Daddy is at work" or "go ask Dad" etc). DH doesn't use my name as often as I use his, so they don't hear it as often, but Jenna has started calling me Kim occasionally and I ignore it, lol. Like Angie, I think it's important that she knows we have other names, just in case. Evan isn't really talking, so nothing from him on this yet.
