I know we had a thread like this a while ago but now that they're a little older:

What car seat is your LO using now?
Are they FF or RF?

We just got a brand new seat because we were in a wreck.
We got a Safety First Alpha Elite. Still rear facing. Nattie is just barely over 20lbs.

Sunshine Kids Radian XTSL (Now made by Diono)
RF
He will be rear-facing until he is over 40 pounds, so hopefully he will be close to 4 years. Can't find an argument for turning him around.

All I know is it's a Safety First, but I don't know what model. Also rear facing.

Question (not a debate) for those of you who rear face for a long time:

Does your LO not throw a huge fit in the car? Obviously I know it is much safer to have them RF for longer, but it was HORRIBLE to go anywhere with her in the car when she was still RFing. She would throw a huge fit no matter if we gave her snacks, a sippy cup, a doll, other toys, kid music in the car, etc. I did have the HUGE wide mirror that she could see in, etc. I dreaded going anywhere with her and it made both DH and I miserable, but mostly me since I drive her around all week long and DH is really only with her in the car on the weekends.

Once we switched her to FF, no problems at all. She is content just sitting in her seat. I still give her a baby doll or whatever else, but now she just sits in the back "talking" to me and dancing to the music. For me, I needed to have a sane car trip.

Keelan also has an Alpha Omega Elite, still rear facing.

And Mandy Keelan has always thrown a fit in the car so we just roll with it.

M was FF by 15 months and K by 12 months. They both were into throwing huge fits in the car. little rose, being the tiniest so far (17 pounds at 17 months) is staying rf as long as possible. SHe is the only one to not throw a fit. If she does, it's usually because the straps are twisted. I think it's easier for her being rf, because K sits behind her and M to her right. If no one was behind her, she would probably have a fit.

Graco MyRide 65, Rear-facing for now but I may change it to FF pretty soon because she's getting pretty long now and her legs are hitting just at the backseat. A couple more months and she'll be squished back there.

Kaylee doesn't throw a fit. She looks out the windows, talks, listens to the music. If it's a long trip she falls asleep lol

She has no idea her seat even turns around, so even if she was fussy I can't imagine it would be because she wanted to be turned around I don't have any problem with her facing forwards at this point, but I'm just thinking, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Evan's in a TrueFit by The First Years and he's forward facing.

Mandy- He threw epic fits while rf, to the point of choking and gagging himself and I do long rides every couple of months to visit our families, often by myself. He's been much better since turning around. My daughter was the same.

Graco (I think its a MyRide 65) Rear-facing. I plan on staying rear-facing as long as possible.

My little guy has always been fine on car rides, so luckily that hasn't impacted us. But sitting in high chairs when we go out to eat...well thats a different story! lol

Birtax Marathon 65.

Silas is FF, and Ayla is RF. The only reason they both aren't FF is because my van is old, and I had to get tethers put in. I wanted them in the middle row, but because of where they put the anchors, if I put the seats in the middle, no one can sit in the back. So, I only turned one around. I know it sounds weird, but we alternate. Silas HATES RF. I know it is safer, but playing baby UFC while the other one runs away is not my idea of safe or fun, so we do what we have to do. Come summer they will both be FF.

That's what I was thinking. He doesn't know what it's like to be FF, so I doubt he's throwing a fit because of that.
