Last night Brynlee was playing with a bunch of foam blocks that are different shapes and sizes. She put all of the little square ones in the carrying bag. If we handed her a different size or put one in the bag that wasnt the small square, she threw it out and told us no. Then she put all of the rectangles in a pile on the floor. She then would only stack the small ones on top of each other. If we handed her any other size or shape, she set them aside as if she didn't need those.

Is that...strange? I've never seen her do that before. I didn't notice until I put a moon shape in the bag and then I noticed the little strange things.

Kaylee does a couple strange things, too. Our dog food bowls are at the top of the stairs and when she goes up to go to bed, the scoop and cup we use to fill the bowls HAVE to be one inside the other or she will NOT go up the stairs. Same with the diaper cream. She knows where it belongs and if you leave it on the floor it is a constant fit until it gets put away.

I think they make these little rules up in their heads and think that's just the way it's supposed to be!

Maybe a little weird, but with parents like us what can we expect hahaha

I am no expert, but I don't think it's weird. Everything I have read said they should be starting to sort objects now. It sounds like she just really knows what objects she wants together.

Nope, I don't think it's weird. She is just recognizing different shapes and things and starting to want to do creative things with them!
