Have you been on a vacation with your child/ren yet? Planning one for this year?

If you have been, how did it go? If not, what are you planning?

We took one last year to the beach and we're going to Charleston SC this year. We kept our itinerary very relaxed and very play by ear. We didn't make any solid plans and tried to do things in her awake blocks. I wore her (as she was much smaller then) quite a bit and over all she was a very happy baby. We rented a condo so it was much easier than a hotel because DH and I could lay her down for a nap and go in another room or out on the balcony. It was easy to eat breakfast and lunch in and then go out for dinner and that saved a lot of money and hassle.

We have taken trips places, but not exactly a vacation. We haven't been on vacation since July '10 when we went to Florida. We didn't go in July '11 for obvious reasons, lol. Then we didn't go in July '12 because of all of DH's health problems. With us moving next month, I am not sure that either of us will have any sort of a vacation this summer since we'll have new jobs. Then if we have a new baby in July '14...I'm sure we won't get a vacation then either.

We have visited my parents in Kentucky twice now since Keelan was born. Once with all the kids and once when W&C were with their mom. We're thinking about spending Spring break with them as well. We travel at night so the kids mostly sleep.

We've taken her on a few weekend getaways. To visit my parents a few times and on a vacation last summer to Idaho- we have a cabin there on the lake. When we go places we always get suites rather than hotel rooms because we need somewhere for her to sleep while we stay awake.

We have taken him camping a few times, once for almost a week. And taken him to my grandparents house for trips here and there. We haven't really done a full out vacation though.

Yes, last June Mya and I drove to Indiana with family to visit my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins and stayed there for a week. It was a great time and we loved it out there. I fell in LOVE with Chicago while I was there.

Then, we spent a weekend in Virginia Beach with family in July I believe. That was pretty fun too but I was tired from driving all that way by myself. We took Mya and her only female cousin to the beach and that was fun. Of course Mya was more interested in eating the sand but she loved the water too after she got used to it. I enjoyed taking her to the beach but there was sand EVERYWHERE and it took forever to get her and all of her rolls clean. LOL

This year we're supposed to be going on a cruise but now I'm not sure if we'll be able to make it. If we don't go on the cruise we'll take another beach vacation probably VA Beach again or Ocean City.

We planned our first family vacation for this summer. We rented a cabin about 4 hrs away. I'm excited to take them! We are keeping things to do pretty minimal. There's a beach 1 mile away, and some falls/tourist attractions.

We went to Sea World 6 hours away last year for X's birthday. That car ride was absolute hell. They screamed and cried, even with plenty of breaks, and Layla begged to please let her out of her seat.
I don't know if I can do it again.

Not really vacation, but we drove to Buffalo NY when Jacob was 6 weeks old, then took a train ride there last January. This year us and my parents are renting a house on the Outer Banks in July, then my in-laws are taking us on a Disney cruise in October.

We took several vacations last year and will take at least one this summer, with my husband's family.

This is the exact reason I'll never drive over to Indiana with a baby again. She slept most of the way to VA Beach and back but she got a little fussy towards the ends of the car rides. I could probably do ok with a 3 hour car ride with her but anymore than that and we'll have to fly.
