I am being discharged from the hospital tomorrow but Evan will be staying. I am Really beyond depressed. Every time I think about walking out of here without him I bawl like a loon. On the other hand I miss Will so much I think I might die. So I'm screwed either way. I don't know how long Evan will be in the hospital. A couple weeks? Anybody have any idea?

My friends son was born at 33 weeks and was in the nicu for almost two months.
Is he on a vent or anything?
They might just want to make sure he's going to eat/digest/gain weight without any issues.

I hope he comes home soon!

Oh I am so sorry you are experiencing it. It totally sucks, I know.
What is going on with him now? Is he on any breathing support? Is he maintaining his own body temperature? Is there a weight they are looking for him to hit?
Hugs, Mama.

He is breathing on his own. As far as body temperature, they haven't mentioned that to me but he is under a heat device. His biggest concern right now is eating. He won't suckle very much and when he does he forgets to breathe. So I think once he gets that he will be in good shape but I expect it to take a little while.

Hugs to you. I know it sucks but it's the best place for him right now until he's 100% ready to go home. Hope he doesn't have to stay in the NICU long.

*hugs* It's totally normal to be very upset and sad that you can't take your new little guy home and snuggle with him. It sounds like he is doing very well though. Hopefully he won't be there too long. I bet Will can't wait to cuddle with you, Mommy! He probably thinks you took a vacation, LOL He's going to look at you and his little toddler thoughts will be like...Wait...Mama had a bigger belly.... LOL

*hugs*
