Just really frustrated and stressed right now. Both Cody and his sister STILL are getting ear infections in spite of being tubed. Combine the nastiest snot you can imagine and ear wax....that's what's been pouring out of their ears the past two weeks. I'm wiping noses and ears It gets all in their hair, their sheets, and their clothes. And this morning, both were running a fever. The reason they got tubes is because they were either allergic to the antibiotics, or it just didn't work. Our primary physician wants us to get a second opinion from another ENT. Emily is sleeping fine but Cody cries on and off all night every night. I'm so tired and cranky.
Well I found a new ENT and they're going Friday afternoon. DH is taking them because he works nights this week. They are a tad bit better now - Emily's eardrops are somewhat effective and Cody is on yet another antibiotic he's never been on which seems to be helping, but now he has diarrhea. No fever anymore. As glad as I am that they are better, I know it's just temporary until the next infection. I really hope this new guy has some answers for us.
I have, but for the purpose of figuring out what was causing their diarrhea. Both can't handle whole milk, but I still give them yogurt for the probiotics. They are both congested a lot of the time, and I'm not sure if it's more from allergies or being in daycare - or both. We're trying to get a handle on the congestion in hopes of preventing these infections. Seeing the new ENT tomorrow - hope to get some answers from this new guy.
Cody's ear is better. Last weekend his doctor put him on an antibiotic that's he's never tried before. Seems to be working. But at the same time I really don't want to rely on the meds. Weakens his immune system.
