You might remember that the doctor was concerned about Keelan's weight at his 18 month appointment and wanted us to come back for a 21 month appointment for a weight check instead of the standard 2 year appointment. The doctor had advised not letting him nurse as much and push the real food. I rolled my eyes and continued to do what we had been doing.
I took him to the pedi on Wednesday to get his stitches removed and they weighed him. He was 24 lbs 8 ounces, up from 21 lbs, 4 ounces in 6 weeks. He jumped from the 3rd percentile to the 25th percentile. And it just reinforces to me that babies do their own thing and can't read growth charts.
That's awesome! I totally agree with you about growth charts! Kids totally gain and their own rate and if they are otherwise healthy leave them be! Dominic kind of did the same thing, he was constantly 21-22 lbs and then gained a couple lbs in a very short time (he is still breastfed too so many it has something to do with that lol)
Yea!! Kynslee has finally reached 21 pounds so pedi isn't concerned with weight anymore. I'm sure Kynslee will keep growing at the rate she is currently. Every child is different and I never really did weight checks that often - I knew Kynslee was healthy; moms usually know best! Glad you don't have to go back for weight checks
