Luckily it's starting to go away, but since the middle of last week Cody's had horrible pink eye. It was at its worst over the weekend. Couldn't open his eyes at all in the morning. I'm sure it would have gone away faster if he would open his eyes for me to put the drops in. But I have to hold him down and pry his eyes open. Not fun.
But I have to hold him down and pry his eyes open.
You don't need to do that. Pick a time when he's calm & playful and lay him on the sofa or the floor. Watch closely for when he blinks or closes his eyes (or just make him look down at something), and when he does, quickly put the drops into the inner corner of the eye; when he opens the eye, they will leak right inside. He will most likely cry after, but that's okay.
My kids have had different eye issues before; my oldest especially has really sensitive eyes. We have had our share of eye ointments and drops over the years. I feel you, it sucks big time.
