How do you offer food? Cut up in small pieces, or do you let them pick it up and bite it?

For a long time I was cutting everything up for Cody - but now he wants to pick most things up and bite pieces off. I think it's a control thing, but I just have to watch how much he bites off at once! He's now holding a banana himself and biting pieces off, whereas before I would cut it up. After a few bites, he would just throw everything on the floor. Now, he eats the whole thing!

depends on the food. Things like chicken nuggets or bananas I used to cut up but he prefers to take bites, but stuff like hot dogs or chicken breast I cut up into bite-size pieces he can stab with his fork.

Depends on what type of food. If I know she's going to have trouble biting pieces off, I'll cut it up.

It depends on the food. If it's something he can takes bites of (like a sandwich or pizza) then I cut it into sticks and he eats it with his hands. But for like actual meals (like meats & veggies) I make him his own plate with everything cut it into bitesize pieces and hand him a fork. He can feed himself now.

Depending on what it is I either cut it up,or offer how it is, it all depends on what it is, some things she can just pick up and eat, like tacos, but lasagna I cut up so she can eat it better.

For us its basically the same as everyone has mentioned so far, it depends on the food lol. Mostly he likes to take bites of things but foods like grapes and other choking hazards i cut, as well as meats and things he would have a hard time with otherwise. He likes to feed himself (using a fork/spoon) and will even try to grab my fork at times! Let me tell ya, he likes to eat!
