Yesterday evening Chuck (4) was carrying Lew around. Then Chuck dropped Lew. They do this all the time. But this time apparently Lew did not land on the bottom of his foot, but on the point of his toe. He would not walk on that foot at all last night. I was hoping he would sleep it off, but he did not. So we took him to the ER this morning. Broke one of the bones in his foot. So he is in a splint that he is trying his hardest to take off. And we are leaving town in 3 days to go to a wedding. Thankfully I got him in to a pediatric orthopedist tomorrow afternoon.

Updated pic. Ortho gave me the option of a velcro boot or a cast. Given Lew's love of undoing velcro, I opted for the cast. He will have it on for 3 weeks, then it comes off and they take another set of x-rays. They think that will be all it takes since the break is clean and he is so young.

I'm sorry to hear about his toe. I hope he deals well with the cast. He is just so stinking cute too!

Awe, poor little guy. I can't even imagine a toddler in a cast. Here's hoping he heals quickly!
