Hello ladies!
My name is LaTina, I'm 28 and my hubby is also 28, and we have been married for 4 years now. This is my first time posting here. I have been a long time lurker on this website, but never felt like I should be posting since I wasn't pregnant or TTC. Well now I am!

I am officially pregnant with my first child. We found out a 9 dpo when I randomly took a pregnancy test one afternoon. I had a quick doctor's appointment on Wednesday that confirmed my pregnancy, and I have a real appointment on June 1st. According to online calculators I am due on February 2nd, which is actually my wedding anniversary, so I think thats pretty cute.

Since this is my first, can someone tell me what to expect at my doctor's appointment and what kind of questions I should ask? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Congrats and welcome. The first doc appointment is usually the longest. My doc does weight, blood pressure and does a exam to check the cervix and growth. He goes over where he delivers and how the appointments are spaced (well mine doesn't anymore...I have had the same doc with all my pregnancies...). Then he takes questions. If you think of a question before your appointment write it down so you don't forget it. I always had to call the next day and talk to him because I would forgot what I was going to ask and then remember once I got on the highway. Of course all docs may be different on how they do things on the first appointment.

Welcome and congrats! My 1st DA was much like Lynn described. I think they went over family history ans such as well.

Well, I think it certainly depends where you go. For me, I will go between 7-10 weeks for my first appt. I see a group of midwives and they are pretty non interventional with cervical checks. And personally, I refuse any paps or checks because of past history. Anyways, so routine things such as urine sample, weight, blood pressure, will be taken along with long past medical history and bloodwork. Maybe an ultrasound? In my m/w office we will schedule the first ultrasond at that first appointment along with bloodwork. I always bring a list of questions becaues it is overwhelming at that first appointment.

Thanks! I am so excited. Im also very nervous. I keep taking tests like every other day to make sure I'm still pregnant. Please tell me that's normal. lol

Thank you everyone for the congrats, welcomes, and the information. It's so surreal to me cause even when we were not trying, I would hope that we had an oops everytime my cycle was late. So I am so amazed that this has actually become a reality.
I guess I need to get my list of questions together for my doctor. Do any of you ladies have any specific questions that I need to make sure I ask?
