My DH asked me a question today and I just have no idea.

When you have a scheduled c-section how do they break your water. Do they break it still inside you, do they pull it out a bit? How does that work?

Just thought someone on here might know. I have had 2 sections one was an emergency and I had a plecental abruption with lots of bleeding so I don't know if my water broke prior to delivery. For my second they did a c-section as soon as they noticed labour so before my water could break and there were twins so two waters to break, but I didn't notice what they did.

I have no idea how they broke my water for my c/section. I'm assuming maybe took it out some? That is a really good question and I'm really curious too.

I'm pretty sure it's when they cut into your uterus or immediately after they cut into it.

After they cut into your uterus, they cut into your water bag.
