I got a bfp this morning with fmu, then another with smu. It's early, I am still only 9dpo at best, and I didn't think I'd join any DDC this early..but, I figure...what the h-e-l-l..might as well. My EDD would be Feb. 22.

A little about me... I am 29, dh is 35. We have two children - Kelly, almost 3, and Lyla, 18 months. Those pregnancies went rather smoothly, for the most part. Since having my daughter in Nov. 2010, I have had 4 consecutive losses (2 chemicals, 1 6w loss, & 1 11w loss). After loss #3, which was the 11 week one, I had tons of testing done. They found out that I have a blood clotting disorder (tested positive for lupus anticoagulant), and two genetic mutations that are associated with recurrent loss and clotting. As such, I am on daily aspirin and Folbic (high dose Folic acid, b6 & b12). Now that I am pregnant, I will be starting on heparin soon. I actually have the meds here, but I need to be shown how to inject myself, which I'm not looking forward to cuz I'll have to do it twice a day..but I'll do whatever I need to to make sure this baby sticks.

So..yea...I wasn't going to join so soon after all of what we've gone through in the past 10 months, but, eh...I'm feeling good about this one. The earliest I can probably get into get a beta hcg and progesterone blood draw done is probably Tuesday because unfortunately we are going on a short trip Sunday-Monday. Until then, I hope my lines keep getting darker!!

Congrats!! if you need to know anything about the shots, you can ask me! I've only been off of them for 8 months....I'll be starting them again soon myself....They aren't too bad and eventually you'll get used to it....My tip is to get a couple small ice packs and numb the skin on your stomach for like 10 minutes, and then put the ice on it after for like 5 minutes, helps with the pain and the bruising

Thanks for the tips!! I'll keep that in mind. I'm sure after awhile it'll become routine...but it still makes me nervous.

oh another tip, stick the needle in fast (the slower, the more you think about it lol) but inject pretty slowly so it doesn't burn (it also helps the bruising too).

I have done the shots myself. But I had to do them in my upper thighs. I agree do it quick it doesn't even hurt if you do it fast. It only hurts if you torture yourself and push in slowly. The first couple of times is difficult but after that it becomes old news and you won't have any concerns doing it. Congratulations and I wish you the very best of luck with this pregnancy!
