Children have amazing intuition. When we were little my friend Brooke 'disappeared' for about 20 minutes. When they found her (hiding behind the couch) her aunt asked her why she didn't answer when they yelled for her. A little back story..... Brooke had been declared dead in the emergency room about six months before. The family was let in to say their goodbyes, and as her mom sobbed over her lifeless body Brooke sat up and said, "Don't cry, Mommy. I had fun. I was sitting on God's lap and I saw Uncle Bo and Grandma and Grandpa. It was fun. God said I wasn't ready though, and made me come back. I wanted to stay but he said I couldn't yet."
So the day she when missing, the family was already way over protective of her. The conversation went like this:
Brooke: I couldn't. I was talking to Jesus.
Bev: Oh really? Another visit? (half grinning)
Brooke: He came to see me this time. I'm not allowed to go back to Heaven until I'm really old.
Bev: Well that's good. What did you talk about?
Brooke: The baby in your belly.
Bev: (crying) There's no baby in my belly Brooke. My belly is broken. (Bev had tried for 10 years to have a baby, even doing IVF back when it was almost unheard of. Back when you hid the fact that your child was a "test tube baby".
Brooke: YES THERE IS! It's a little girl. She has long brown hair, and she is going to be one of my best friends! And later when she is bigger, she is going to have a little brother. I'm not going to like him as much, but Jesus said I have to be nice anyway.
At this point, Bev grabbed her stuff and left to go home. She was heartbroken, and angry, but she didn't want to take it out a kid that didn't know any better. Bev and her DH, Keith had tried EVERYTHING to have a baby. They took out a mortgage on their house, sold the extra car, she took a job.... all to pay for (at the time) experimental treatments. She was told in the end that even with the advances in technology, she would never have a child.
A few days later, Bev got very sick and had to go to the emergency room. The drew blood for a variety of tests, and then came back to ask her if she knew she was pregnant. They did an ultrasound and found out she was 8 weeks pregnant. At the end of the pregnancy, Brooke's best friend Karli was born. Complete with long brown hair.
Bev was shocked, and still talks about Brooke's conversation with Jesus, but she still wasn't sure how she knew the information. She didn't really believe Brooke's story. At least not until Karli was 5 and Matthew was born.
I hope you get what you want in this case, but kid's have amazing intuition. Maybe you should prepare yourself mentally for the possibility of twins.
