My name is Veann. I have two sons, Lucius (three) and Orion (fourteen months) and am now expecting our third baby. My husband and I have been married for ten years this December and we live in the Buffalo, New York area. This pregnancy is a year and half earlier than I would have planned, but we are happy to welcome our third and final child into our family. My estimated due date according to last menstrual period is February 21, 2013; however, I fully expect to go long into March before the baby is born. My firstborn was born at forty-two weeks plus three days and my second was the much-anticipated "Baby Pickles", who one-upped his brother and waited until forty-three weeks plus three days to be born and thus, held up several Due Date Clubs from moving on down the list here. We haven't told our families about the new pregnancy yet. My inlaws were less than elated and supportive when we announced our second, so we aren't anxious for them to know the news yet. Other than a third carseat and a larger vehicle, maybe also a double stroller and second Ergo, we don't need much for another baby. We have kept all of the stuff from the boys and I buy too much at garage sales.
This baby will be known as "Baby Grey" until birth. We are Team Yellow and not planning on having any ultrasounds unless necessary. We will be using a midwife and are planning a homebirth. Our first was born at a freestanding birth center, drug and intervention-free with midwives. Our second was born at home also drug-free with only the most minimal interventions. We had a midwife with him too. "Baby Grey" IS, in fact, a tongue-in-cheek nickname as this baby is one of the "Shades of Grey" babies. I am strongly considering Grey as a second middle name if this baby is a boy. My hubby says he's going to write E. L. James an angry letter about this.
Anyhow, I'm a Libertarian, intactivist, atheist, heavy metal stay-at-home-Mommy who breastfeeds, selective and delayed vaccinates, babywears, partially cloth diapers and am very much into the natural birth. I love to read, surf internet, knit and sometimes watch tv and more rarely, movies. I am generally more active in Due Date Clubs until after the birth of the babies and even then, only drop in from time to time. I look forward to getting to know all of you of this February 2013 Due Date Club!

Oh, the books are not good. The writing is atrocious, the sex scenes aren't that steamy, the story isn't unique or surprising in any way and it really isn't worth all the hype. I don't even like them that much. It's just that reading about sex all day leads to thinking about sex all day, which leads to wanting sex. We all know where that leads to: Due Date Clubs!
Welcome and congratulations!! If you don't mind me asking how big were your boys at birth. My 19 year old DD just had her first baby 2 weeks ago at 42 weeks gestation and was a whopping 10lbs 8oz's. I imagine another week would have been in the 11 pound range Anyways look forward to your posts. I tried to read the Grey books but was bored by page 10...lol

Both were eight pounds and two ounces at birth. Not what I'd consider "big". Congratulations on the new grandchild!
